Children are always putting their faith into action whether they are encouraged to follow in Jesus’ footsteps with kindness and empathy towards each other or whether raising money for charities.
The school supports a range of charities through fundraising events. Charities include Cabrini, CAFOD, Cancer research UK, Macmillan and Race for life. Our harvest gifts are distributed to the homeless. The children initiate their own fundraising at other times. These have included cake sales, talent shows, dance displays and other sponsored activities.
The school works with both parishes. Events in the parishes are promoted through the Head Teacher’s newsletter. Mufti days are held to raise funds and Christmas and Summer Fetes are supported well by the school. St Aidan’s Parish Fete is hosted annually at the school and staff get involved in fundraising.
Children have a fantastic attitude towards helping others and even set themselves challenges to act like Jesus. They sent post cards to care home residents, made cakes and cards for NHS staff and left kindness messages around the local area.
