St. Aidan's are pleased to be adding an additional Zoom open day on Friday 8th January, if you would like to join, please contact the school office email@example.com .
We are very disappointed not to be able to offer ‘in-person’ tours of St Aidan’s at the moment. We are very proud of our school and our pupils and we understand that there can be no substitute for seeing this first-hand for yourselves. However, considering the constraints of the situation, we would like to invite you to get a flavour for what St Aidan’s is like by watching our short video introduction to the school and by looking through our abridged admissions pack. This pack contains the supplementary information form (SIF) that you will need to return to the school by 15th Jan 2021, in addition to completing the online application form through e-admissions https://www.eadmissions.org.uk/
Please get in touch with our school office if you would like to book onto one of our virtual tours in the coming weeks. Good luck with your applications!
Covid19 and School Admissions – Mass attendance
On the advice of the Education Commission of the Archdiocese of Southwark the governing body of St Aidan's Catholic Primary School has agreed the following statement in order to clarify how its faith-based oversubscription criteria will be interpreted whilst churches are closed or attendance at church is not possible due to Covid19. This statement has been shared widely with parishes in order to ensure that determinations made by parish priests concerning regular practice of the faith are being made on a consistent basis.
‘The Suspension of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass was announced on 18th March 2020 by Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. If a parent/carer attended Mass at particular parish (or parishes) prior to 18th March 2020 then they will be considered to have attended Mass in the parish (or parishes) regularly since that time. This will remain the case until the Sunday obligation is reintroduced by the Bishops’.
